Not free. And not to download. There are loads of free online dictionaries, but you can’t download one of them. I’ve looked for this for years and there still is not a free downloadable one to be found.

Question by Digit: How do I make additions ot the Yahoo e mail dictionary, Every time I spell my name it says wrong,?
On Word dictionary ypou can add a word if you use it all the time and it is spelled correctly. My last name is never spelled the same way, Is there a waty to add it to the dictionary as well as a hundred other words and abreveations.

Best answer:

Answer by Yahzmin (US)
Sorry, but Yahoo does not support ‘personal’ dictionary entries. You can try creating your emails in something like Word, that does allow it, spell check them there, then copy & paste them into your email. This is safer to do anyway, as it means you can save the document and not lose your email if the system crashes.

Is there a word in the dictionary that a compliment with a hidden diss?

Question by LoLva123: Is there a word in the dictionary that a compliment with a hidden diss?
Like complimenting in a negative way, like a compliment that feels like a diss. Is there a fancy word in the dictionary for this?

Best answer:

Answer by Roland M
The big fancy word for it is “Asteism.”

asteism (plural asteisms)

Polite irony; a genteel and ingenious manner of deriding another.

There are phrases for it:

“To damn someone with faint praise,”
“To give a left-handed compliment.”
“To give a back-handed compliment.”
