Question by John: How to find out if a word is borrowed or native in the dictionary?
I am having problem with some homework in one of my classes. I am supposed to find out if a word is borrowed or native by looking the word up in the dictionary and reading the etymology. I sort of understand how to read an etymology but I dont understand how I can tell from the etymology if its borrowed or a native word. does anyone think they can help me?
Thank you
